Ash & Tara and the Emerald Dagger by Jeanne Perrett

Jeanne’s first book is being published by Penguin for the Indian market. An amazing book full of adventure that children will definitely adore.

The story takes the readers to Agra, India in the 1570s. Ashok Trivedi, a ten-year-old boy from a poor farming village on the banks of the Yamuna, gets swept up in a celebratory crowd and accidentally finds himself inside the magnificent red-walled palace of his hero, the great Mughal emperor, Akbar.

When Ash sees a courtier acting suspiciously and realises that Akbar’s ancient and valuable emerald dagger has been replaced by a fake, he and his twin sister, Tara, vow to find out more. Chasing through the countryside in the shadows of the moon, Ash and Tara’s adventure takes them up hills, over streams and into dank, dangerous underground caves. Aided by their friends, Kirit and Bansi, and with the guidance of the mystical guru Didar, they finally outwit the thieves, recover the stolen treasure and return triumphantly across the river, riding on wild elephants.

Wishing you the greatest success Jeanne, looking forward to reading it!
